XION was created to solve a real problem: how to deliver reliable protection without compromising comfort, fit or freedom of movement. What began in the stunt world grew into a brand trusted across sport, film and professional use.

XION was born from a practical need: better protection for real movement.
In the early days, traditional impact protection was often bulky, rigid and difficult to wear under clothing. For stunt professionals, that created a constant compromise between protection, comfort and performance. XION set out to change that.
The starting point came when two Dutch stunt professionals discovered D3O®, a material that was flexible in motion and designed to react on impact. They immediately recognized its potential and began exploring how it could be used to create a new kind of protective gear — one that was low-profile, wearable and built for real use.
Back in the Netherlands, development started with a clear purpose: create protection that people would actually want to wear. Not because they had to, but because it worked better.
What followed were years of development, testing and refinement. From the beginning, XION worked close to the people who depended on protection most: stunt professionals, athletes and demanding users who needed gear that could perform under pressure without limiting movement.
This practical foundation shaped the brand from day one.
As word spread, XION quickly moved beyond the stunt world. Many early users were also active in action and snow sports, and interest in the products grew internationally. Athletes were looking for the same thing stunt professionals needed: reliable protection, high comfort and unrestricted freedom of movement.
That demand helped drive the next phase of the brand. XION expanded into snow sports and other physically demanding fields, developing new ranges for different disciplines and applications. Over time, the brand also gained interest in professional and operational environments, where wearability, mobility and dependable protection are equally critical.
Despite that growth, the core idea has never changed.
XION still stands for protection that works in practice. Protection that integrates naturally into movement. Protection that supports confidence instead of getting in the way.
Today, XION serves a growing international community across sport, film and professional use. Every new product, every new application and every new user adds to the story — but the mission remains the same:
